Whoops, missed that. (Or maybe I wasn't subscribed then!?) But never
mind, for my case that's OK. I changed the code so that I do not get
"activate();activate();clear() ... clear()" any more, but
"activate();clear();activate() ... clear()". So, no refcounting needed.
Now, that's innovation, isn't it? Committed. Thanks!    :-)
