The Gimp developers are looking for a new file format: http://lists.xcf.berkeley.edu/lists/gimp-developer/2003-August/thread.html ([Gimp-developer] GimpCon RFC: Portable XCF ) If we work together with them, this would give us an opportunity to establish a common file format for Gimp/Krita/OpenOffice.
