Ah -- now I succeeded, too. I don't know why, and how, because I needed to 
click and sweep faster than I could track what I did... It's easy enough to
mask the cause, by checking for srcdev==0, but that doesn't solve the original 
problem. I'll put that check in, and a debug message to warn that this part 
isn't good enough yet.
