miscreation of inline flow boxes in render lists

Ok, Waldo found the source of the bug. It was due to detaching the inline box 
in RenderBox::position. Not detaching the box makes the crash go away. 
However, why is the box detached in the first place, and are there known 
negative implications of leaving in the box?

I hope I get an answer this time ;-)
