Well, while your explanation makes sense, the only thing that makes me 
suspicious that horizontally the placement is correct, while the same 
"signess typo" is also in that code. 

Thats why I currently believe that my patch is more correct, but I haven't 
verified that yet with the spec (too tired right now).
