Bug ID: 335495
Summary: kget fails to download JPG from webpage
Classification: Unclassified
Product: kget
Version: 2.13.0
Platform: Mint (Ubuntu based)
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
Assignee: kget at kde.org
Reporter: misimonian at gmail.com
This bug report has been filed along with two others that refer specifically to
kget -rekonq interactions. This third bug is independent of rekonq given that I
have tried this with midori as well, with identical results.
I open a browser and navigate to gmail. I open an email with a jpg attachment.
I choose to view the attachment and the image comes up.
Whether I then drag the image to the kget download basket or right-click and
choose 'save' (in which case kget does not automatically pop up. I have to
actually click its icon in the icon bar), kget appears to download the file.
What it downloads, however, is a zero byte text file. I have tried this with
both rekonq and midori.
This does not happen with photos opened through a google image search. For
example, in both rekonq and midori, searching for 'dog' in 'images' and
right-clicking produces a normal download, though I still have to actually
click on the kget icon to see that the image has been captured.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. install kget on Mint 13
2. open a browser and navigate to gmail. open a file containing a jpg.
3. display the image, then attempt to download using kget
Actual Results:
a text file of size 0 is generated
Expected Results:
the photograph should be downloaded to the download location
