Same here. I add several downloads to kget via copy&paste and when multiple
download start simultanously,
the UI freezes.

There are 2 ways to solve this issue (workaround!):

(A) Kill KGET and start again 
=> sometimes it works... sometimes the UI freezes again

(B) Wait until all downloads are finished
=> The UI is responsive again
