Often I assign icons to folders in my directory structure to help with
navigation. Under a particular project, I will use icons on folders as a way of
"starring" notable ones and helping me quickly find what elements in a complex
project that I want to use frequently.
Often, the icons installed on my system aren't necessarily the best fit for a
symbolic representation of that folder. I sometimes use a custom image form the
filesystem, emojbut this would be laborious for a large project.
Assuming suitable fonts are installed, I think it'd be a nice touch to be able
to select an emoji in lieu of a system icon/image file, as a way of drawing a
particular folder. It could be represented on its own as is the case with
current icon support, or on top of the current theme's default folder icon, but
given there are so many to choose from nowadays, it seems like a quick way of
offering users many extra options to choose from in order to find a pictorial
representation of a folder.
