I think this happens because "dolphin Folder2" or "xdg-open Folder2" will by
default create a new instance of Dolphin. Compared to Firefox or Chrome,
several Dolphin windows don't run in the same process. 

Try Dolphin settings (Ctrl + Shift + ,) -> UI -> Open files: Keep a single
Dolphin window open, open new folders in tabs
