Summary: Dolphin not seeing/mounting external device(s) that is
plugged in
Classification: Applications
Product: dolphin
Version: 23.08.5
Platform: RedHat Enterprise Linux
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general

Target Milestone: ---
SUMMARY
Migrating our RHEL 9 VDI VMs from Gnome Desktop to KDE Plasma Workspace and
some of the devices that we are able to use on Gnome desktop are not being
detected on the KDE. One device is an external CD/DVD Burner that is plugged
into a 10zig thin client, the other is an secure USB drive. They work on the
RHEL 9 Gnome VM, but the KDE VM (Cloned from the Gnome and just has KDE
Installed) does not seem to load the drivers correctly from what I can gather
from the logs.
The logs on the KDE VM see that a device is plugged in but, nothing happens.
The device doesn't show up in lsusb, lsblk or udisksctl status.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Plug in USB Device to
2. Enable (Connect) the device through Horizon
OBSERVED RESULT
This is for the CD/DVD Drive, but the results for the secure USB are the same.
Device is not mounted.
Output from /var/log/messages when the device is attached:
