            Bug ID: 498455
Summary: Create a website link when pasting an URL on dolphin
    Classification: Applications
           Product: dolphin
           Version: 24.12.0
          Platform: Arch Linux
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
          Assignee: dolphin-bugs-null at kde.org
          Reporter: antti.savo at gmail.com
                CC: kfm-devel at kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Currently if you paste text into dolphin, it creates a text file out of that
text. It would be nice if this behavior was changed a little so that if the
user pastes text that fits the definition of an URL, the program initiates the
"Link to Location (URL)" dialog. It would be a nice usability change.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Copy an URL
2. Paste said URL in Dolphin

OBSERVED RESULT
Dolphin creates a text file that contains the pasted text

EXPECTED RESULT
Dolphin should create a link to a website that contains the pasted text

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux: Arch Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 6.2.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.9.0
Qt Version: 6.8.1
