This actually appears to have been implemented or already existed. I just
checked keyboard shortcuts for Dolphin 24.12.1 and Ctrl + P focusses the Places
panel.

Can you please re-check and confirm if this available for you? If it is, please
change the status to RESOLVED/WORKSFORME. If not, please change the status back
to REPORTED.
