I've tested the various related behaviors described in this issue, and am not
able to replicate any of them with Dolphin 24.12.1 or built from today's
git-master. The main two:

1. The original issue of custom settings not being saved
2. Iyán said Dolphin is also erasing all filesystem attributes incorrectly,
which he believes started with a patch for the original issue (discovered via
git bisect)

Original issue: not able to reproduce
Some folders misbehave but not others (Iyán): not able to reproduce

Erased attributes issue (using ~/Documents): not able to reproduce
