Restore that file 
~/.config/session/dolphin_dolphin_dolphin
from a backup, while dolphin is not running. 

Then, run that command
kwriteconfig6 --file ~/.config/session/dolphin_dolphin_dolphin --group Number
--key NumberOfWindows 1
To fix that session to work in the new version

Then when you start dolphin everything will be OK.
