--- Comment #46 from Marek <marek.schimara at gmail.com> ---
I'm sorry, I will open a new bug if needed. I found this one when searching for
a solution for my missing thumbnails, it looked pretty similar - and the
workaround worked. Anyway, here's the requested info:

This is a new installation (the machine was promoted to a desktop from a
"server" with no GUI), the preview settings were default (untouched).
dolphin outputs these when run from the terminal:

popup, QWidgetWindow(0x55e71f42c710, name="QMenuClassWindow") With some shell
surface protocols, this is not allowed. The wayland QPA plugin is currently
handling it by setting the parent to the topmost grabbing popup. Note, however,
that this may cause positioning errors and popups closing unxpectedly. Please
fix the transient parent of the popup.

I think "known incorrect sRGB profile" comes from some old photos I have, I
doubt it's connected to the issue.
I'm not sure what you mean by the "dolphin's information panel" - I suppose the
sidebar with Places / Remote / Recent / Devices? In which case yes, I have the
icons there and in general no issues with icons, only thumbnails. I also added
"Show Previews" button to the main bar to make sure they were enabled.
