Bug ID: 488300
Summary: Hidden name warning does not appear during rename.
Classification: Applications
Product: dolphin
Version: 24.05.0
Platform: Fedora RPMs
URL: https://invent.kde.org/system/dolphin/-/merge_requests
/695#note_965313
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
Assignee: dolphin-bugs-null at kde.org

CC: kfm-devel at kde.org
Target Milestone: ---
SUMMARY
As https://invent.kde.org/system/dolphin/-/merge_requests/695#note_965019
explains, I do not see a warning when renaming, such that it shall be hidden
when renamed, a file or directory (I've not tried other filesystem objects,
like symbolic and hard links) although, as
https://invent.kde.org/system/dolphin/-/merge_requests/695#note_965313
demonstrates, it should.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create a file containing a period at the start of its name.
2. Observe the warning, as
https://invent.kde.org/system/dolphin/uploads/f2dadd0e5554177ba49c3f99ba892251/Screenshot_20240609_195931.png
demonstrates.
3. Create a file containing mere letters as its name.
4. Rename it such that a period is at the start of the name, as
https://invent.kde.org/system/dolphin/uploads/c8db2b2be1d678801210963bb1b01c08/Screenshot_20240609_200132.png
demonstrates.
OBSERVED RESULT
The warning solely appears during creation, not renaming.
EXPECTED RESULT
The warning should appear in both instances.
