I am experiencing the same problem. Both /usr/lib/kf6/kioworker and gs take up
a lot of CPU.

I am downloading a lot of PDF files, and the output directory is opened in
Dolphin. Once I close the output directory, the problem disappears. It takes
2-5 minutes to download a single PDF, but they are large in size, ranging
between 60M and 350M. So I suspect that this issue may be related to large
PDFs?
