STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Set view mode to anything but icons. For example, compact or details
2. Click View > Adjust View Display Style...
3. Tick chekbox "Use as default view settings"
4. Try to open some folder. It must be folder you not opened before

OBSERVED RESULT
Folder displayed with icon view with thumbnails on

EXPECTED RESULT
Folder should be displayed in view mode, that we set as default
