Can you share your ffmpegthumbnailer version? You can run `ffmpegthumbnailer
-v` to get it.

I have ffmpegthumbnailer version: 2.2.3

Also, I got the video playback working now (I had to set my preview settings to
defaults). However I do not get the popup.

Are you on Wayland or X11?
