Bug ID: 497461
Summary: Dolphin no longer respects the default view option in
"Remember display style for each folder"
Classification: Applications
Product: dolphin
Version: 24.12.0
Platform: unspecified
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: major
Priority: NOR
Component: view-engine: general
Assignee: dolphin-bugs-null at kde.org
Reporter: vse.stopchanskyi at gmail.com
CC: kfm-devel at kde.org
Target Milestone: ---
SUMMARY
After updating yesterday, Dolphin started using icon view, though before I had
selected detailed view by default. I went into burger menu More -> View ->
Adjust view display style and tried setting the settings I need for "All
folders" and checked "Use as default view settings", but it did literally
nothing, it chanced the view in folder I was in and all other folders still had
the icon view. I have to use global view settings or downgrade.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Go to "Configure Dolphin" and in "View" select "Remember display style for
each folder"
2. Go to More -> View -> "Adjust view display style" and select "All folders",
check "Use as default view settings", in view mode select "Details" and change
other settings if you want. Apply.
3. Go to other directory where custom view options were never applied.
OBSERVED RESULT
View mode in other directories wasn't changes, it's still showing in icons
view. It changed view mode only in the current directory.
EXPECTED RESULT
"All folders" and "Use as default view settings" should've changed the default
view mode and view mode in all folders to "Details" with other options set, but
it didn't.
SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
