Bug ID: 497108
Summary: Encrypted .odt files within an opened folder cause
continuous error loops and icons fail to load if
multiple encrypted documents are in one folder
Classification: Applications
Product: dolphin
Version: 24.08.3
Platform: Arch Linux
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: major
Priority: NOR
Component: general
Assignee: dolphin-bugs-null at kde.org
Reporter: nisen24424 at lofiey.com
CC: kfm-devel at kde.org
Target Milestone: ---
SUMMARY
Encrypted .odt files within an opened folder cause continuous errors and icons
fail to load if multiple encrypted documents are in one folder
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. create a writer file in libreoffice with an encryption password, save with
.odt file extension
2. navigate to the folder with the file
OBSERVED RESULT
a continuous error will pop when dolphin attempts to access the file's icon or
upon loading, something? not actually attempting to open the file. But when
attempting to open or open properties, only this error will show up.
"This document contains an unknown encryption method. Some parts may be
unreadable."
Some files also throw:
"This document contains an unknown checksum. When you give a password it might
not be verified."
File is still accessible outside of dolphin when opened through libreoffice
EXPECTED RESULT
no errors, and properties page opens properly , as well as opening file opens
properly
SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: endeavouros wayland
KDE Plasma Version: 6.2.4
DE Frameworks Version:6.8.0
