            Bug ID: 496918
Summary: Dolphin overwrites manually entered paths in Location
                    Bar
    Classification: Applications
           Product: dolphin
           Version: 23.08.5
          Platform: Kubuntu
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: bars: location
          Assignee: dolphin-bugs-null at kde.org
          Reporter: robert at narnia.homeunix.com
                CC: kfm-devel at kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

If I open up Dolphin, then click on the Location Bar, delete the path and start
to type a new path, after a second or so anything I've typed is erased and
Dolphin returns to the new path. I have tried disabling text autocomplete by
right clicking on the location bar and trying all the different options there.

Similarly, backspacing a path component only works if you are fast enough to
hit enter before the autocomplete interferes.

Neither "Manual" nor "None" settings for Text Completion seem to help.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open Dolphin.
2. Double Click just to the right of the current path to enable the text entry
field.
3. Type CTRL-A to select all and begin typing a new path -- or backspace a few
characters.

OBSERVED RESULT
Watch as Dolphin repeatedly replaces anything you've typed with the original
path.

EXPECTED RESULT
Dolphin allows you to modify the path manually.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Kubuntu 24.04
KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.11
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.115.0
Qt Version: 5.15.13

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I don't experience this issue on my Archlinux system running Plasma 6.2.4 under
Frameworks 6.8.0 on Qt 6.8.0. Also, I do have some network filesystems mounted
on my system (using sshfs / fuse) so that could possibly be related. I have
baloo disabled.
