Bug ID: 467287
Summary: Deleting many files takes scroll focus to wrong end
Classification: Applications
Product: dolphin
Version: 22.12.3
Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
Assignee: dolphin-bugs-null at kde.org
Reporter: david.cortes.rivera at gmail.com
CC: kfm-devel at kde.org
Target Milestone: ---
SUMMARY
If I select many files in Dolphin in a way that moves the position within the
scrolling bar downwards and then delete the files, it will not take me back to
the scrolling part where my selection had started - instead, it will keep the
same position, but as I deleted many files, this is now far apart from the
beginning of the selection.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create a folder with lots of files.
2. Launch Dolphin.
3. Configure Dolphin to group files by type (not sure if this is entirely
required) and show icons.
4. Position somewhere in the middle of the available scrolling on the right
panel.
5. Start a selection rectangle by holding a mouse click and moving it
downwards.
6. Let it select many files, taking the scrolling position below what it was
before.
7. Delete the files with Shift+Del.
OBSERVED RESULT
Puts the focus on what would have been the end of the selection rectangle. As
the files no longer exist, this means that it skipped a lot of files to show to
me, since unseen files moved ahead of my current view.
EXPECTED RESULT
Should bring back the focus to where the selection rectangle began, like in
windows explorer.
