As far as I can see the problem began with

and as far as I am concerned

is still the correct answer.
IMO "Focus newly created archives in file manager" is just a bad idea to begin
with, and if it is to stay it needs an option in ark's settings to control it.
Preferrably one that is off by default.

Apologies for blaming you for this, I guess you're just trying to make somebody
else's "feature" work as intended.

For the rest, I wholeheartedly agree with everything Christian said above.
