I've seen it mentioned quite a few times on reddit since 20 days ago and I
don't like it myself as well. I agree with this post:

I too will literally NEVER unmount/eject drives that are inside my laptop. I
would have to take my laptop entirely apart to get them. There should be a
per-drive preference (checkbox in drive properties?) if we want this option to
be available to all.
