Is that some particular issue in particular you have in mind?

One could highlight better what element is in focus right now, but the fact
that you need to cycle through several elements to get to places and then to
several elements back to the area where files and folders are displayed is
inherent. I do not see a rationale why places should be the element that is one
tab away from there instead of something else. I think the default ordering of
where tab should go is spatial, no?

I guess I should have added a use case. The use case it to access a place in
places quickly using keyboard. Another option to achieve that would be to have
the places accessible in menu, so one could hit ALT (when using the HUD) and
type their name. However, given terminal has its own focus shortcut, it does
not seem consistent to me not to have one (at least optionally) for other
panels.

Maybe another alternative would be bookmarks, but as far as I can see, they
cannot be displayed visually in the places panel (and altogether seem puzzling
to me:-)).
