HI Harald,

Thanks for your time, I now have it working by following this excellent 
1 hour tutorial.

I had to delete the original samba.conf and gradually add text to a new 
samba.conf file, as the tutorial had showed me.

This was my fault, I did not realise that I had to change the Login to 
that of the Kubuntu user name, i was only changing the Samba password.

At least with the problems I have had, i have been forced to learn more 
about the conf file and how to customise it. Which is all good knowledge 
for the future.

While KDE desktop environment is complicated, i do thoroughly like it !
Soon to leave Windows behind. 😁
