I have a kind of related issue, not sure if it is worth opening a separate
issue for that.

The thumbnails of documents inside a vault (or in any other encrypted container
like e.g. Cryptomator) are stored in .cache/thumbnails.

A solution could be to turn of thumbnails for these kind of folders or to store
them inside the folder as already mentioned.
