Ah yes, that's probably it. The office files I have which don't show a preview
are more than 15 years old (apparently I haven't used MS office in ages),
probably before they had embedded preview images.

IIRC you had a patch to add preview generation support to this thumbnailer so
people didn't have to have Calligra installed? What happened to that?
