   Hi, Julian, yes, probably it's a out-of-date issue; due to other
   reasons i switched to XFCE / Cinnamon for my year-old-laptop Thinkpad
   W500 where I don't any problems connecting my iPad :-)thx for asking,

   Thank you for your bug report. Which version of Dolphin are you using?
   Linux
   Mint 18.1 is a rather old LTS distribution - it's easily possible that
   your
   issue is already fixed in a newer version of Dolphin.
