Thank you for your follow-up. It seems like the problem lies not within Dolphin
but Baloo, our file indexer. Please try the following steps:
1. Open System Settings
2. Go to "Search"
3. Untick "Activate file indexing" (might be called slightly differently)
4. Restart your system
This will deactivate Baloo. This means that some features (searching in file
content for example) will not work anymore, but for a computer like yours that
doesn't have a lot of memory, it makes sense to disable Baloo. Please report
back if this helps or if the system still hangs when you open Dolphin.

for you once you answer.)
