It scrolls to the renamed file because the renamed file stays selected. If we
didn't scroll to it, it would be selected but non-visible, which Dolphin users
found confusing before we implemented the auto-scroll behavior, and we got bug
reports on it.

What I think would help your use case is a way to instantly start renaming the
next file in sequence after renaming the first one. This feature is tracked by
the following bug reports:
- Bug 403931
- Bug 269987

And there is a patch which implements it, once merged:
