thanks for your message. I've taken the liberty to include the mailing
list in the reply - IMHO, private messages are not exactly the best
way to report and discuss bugs.

the answer to all questions is "no". There is a report [1] about icons
being resized differently (which I could not reproduce recently), but
it's about symlinks, and not the same as your problem if I understand
you correctly.
Could you please provide:
(a) A screenshot of the problem,
(b) instructions that can be used to reproduce the problem (this may
include a screenshot of the "Icons View" settings in the settings
dialog),
(c) maybe an archive that contains a minimal directory in which the
problem can be reproduced,
and file a bug report?
