OT: Is there a way to use dcop to switch tabs in konqueror (KDE3)? (or delete a tab?) (or with dbus in KDE4?)

Sorry, I'm fairly certain this is the wrong list to ask, both because it
is a user rather than a developer question, and because it is for kde3
(which I still use)--maybe someone would be kind enough to point me to
a better list to ask the question?

Question:

Is there a way to use dcop to switch tabs in konqueror (kde3)?  Or to
close tabs (more specifically, other than the "current" tab)? How
about in dbus for konqueror in kde4?

I've done a lot of googling, other searching, exploring in kdcop but so
far haven't found anything.  Maybe I don't know how to ask the
question.

I'm guessing that to switch tabs you somehow have to make
konqueror-mainwindow#1 "take on" the URL in one of the (other)
html-widgetnnn thingies?

(I'm also guessing that the html-widgetnnn thingies at least sometimes
correspond to tabs, but I don't think it's a one to one
correspondence.)

If someone can answer the question for kde4 (and dbus) it might provide
enough of a hint for me to find it for kde3.  Or, maybe, it just can't
be done, and if someone can tell me that "definitively" I can stop
searching.

Background / Use Case:

Rather more often than I'd like, an instance of konqueror gets hung.
Often I think it's due to a specific URL in a specific tab. I'd like
to be able to close that URL/tab in hopes of un-hanging konqueror as
opposed to completely killing an instance of konqueror with kill. (I
run multiple instances of konqueror, partially for the same reason (and
partially to keep separate instances for different subjects/projects).)

Thanks,
Randy Kramer
