File Associations Settings Module outdated?

Right.

Yes.

I guess yes. At least for Dolphin this option is irrelevant.

As a longterm solution it would be nice if the "Embedding" tab could be hidden 
when invoking it in the context of Dolphin, but this is another story :-)
