This has nothing to do about the ability to choose.

This is about annoying the user with questions he shouldn't have to 
answer. He just wants to copy files, that's it. It's already bad enough 
that we ask whether he wants to copy or move or create a link.

I'm all for improving the performance and doing things better, but if we 
can't make up our minds what the best way should be, asking the user is 
*not* the solution.
