Right, I could reproduce the file choser widget button problem.
What I mean by disabling the direct drawing optimisation is what I partially 
explain in my reply to Fredrik.

Hey, using QT_NO_SHARED_PAINTER=1 get the button to show, so you were right, 
there is at least correlation :)
