people might find the links in the email below a bit interesting ...
i think we can do a lot better with the graphics capabilities of qt4 (or at
least, do it with a lot less effort and more performance).
some notes on the breadcrumb widget:
- we need to find a way to deal efficiently with deep directories. currently
it "squishes" the entries but that kind of sucks. suggestions have been
to "collapse" the early entries into one leading button
- i'm going to try working on integrating network awareness (read: hostnames
and protocols) in a way that still looks ok and will bring the results to
this list at that point
this widget, btw, could find use in a lot of places in kde4. basically
anywhere we browse hierarchies: control center, file dialog, amarok's
browser, kdevelop's various managers ...... and of course the file manager ;)

Hi Aaron,
thanks for the fix, I've already commited it to Dolphin SVN.
By the way: I could find some time doing some "information sidebar" prototype
(already commited).
You can find some screenshots at:

I tried to take http://konqueror4.home.dyndns.org as inspiration. It's far
from finished and the code is really very "raw", but it allows already to
play around with some ideas :-)
The next days I'm again more busy with my job and won't find that much time
for Dolphin (poor little fish...), but I'll check the e-mails each day.
Cheers,
Peter
