It's a shortcoming of the Qt3 font handling engine. In Qt 4, the engine 
can do font substitutions much better.

Take a look at the screenshot I've attached. On the right it's a normal 
KHTML view (inside Ark, but you'd get the same in Konqueror). On the 
left, it's Qt4's textedit demo.
