Hmm, haven't use that before. It sounds rather unsave, i.e. I usually try to 
get it to build before committing it.

I am committing to 3.5 branch now and are then off for a 4 hour train ride.
I'll try to do the forward port afterwards as described unless someone else 
does it in the meanwhile.
