What if you don't want to paste, but rather type in a new URL? If you want
to avoid the selection set, you have an option of using the context menu of
the combo, or lots of backspace. That sucks IMHO. Clearing the location bar
is a very common action.
I was just experimenting, and there is one use for the Go button. If you
drop a URL on the combo, it doesn't activate. The only way to activate it is
via the keyboard or the Go action. If we want keyboardless navigation (very
desireable for konqueror (think Kiosk)), we need that action. Alternatively
we could automatically activate urls that are dropped there (the way they are
on the Location: label).
