Konqueror Mimetype Scanning

Hi all,

When I browse files using Konqueror, Konqueror seems to cause a lot of
disk i/o everytime I open another directory. Is this caused by the
mimetype scanning?

If this is the case, we could gain a lot of speed by using the same trick
as Gnome 2.6 does. Gnome 2.6 delays accurate mimetype scanning until it is
really important to know what type a file is, for example when the user
opens the file. Untill then, it only looks at the filename extension. This
way, none of the files need to be opened/closed while browsing.
