not sure what you're asking exactly...

is it technically possible to create such a script? sure...
is there such a thing CVS? not that i know of...
can you substituting <filename> in the menu entry with the actual filename? 
that's a problem as we don't do any substitutions in the menu entry name 
AFAIK.. wouldn't be difficult to add, but may be not worth it (long file 
names, multiple files, could do fine w/out it etc...)

did i answer your question satisfactorily, or did i miss the boat?
