problem with selecting/deselecting text

Ask this David guy.. he changed somethin in the repainting stuff ;)

I think Koos tried some repaint optimisation, but he reverted it again 
himself. 

how do you trigger the update ? renderobject::repaint() should be right, or 
when you want to be sure,  renderroot::repaint()
