I think, that you talking about favicon.ico file. This feature comes from MS 
favorities icons. You just need to create favicon.ico file and put it to 
server document root and that is all. Try to search for favicon.ico and you 
will get a couple of matches. It's easy to use any suitable icon editor which 
can save .ico format and put that file in document root. I think that icon 
must be 16x16.
