Yes, by watching the network traffic with ethereal. The external page is
definitely fetched but not displayed when for example viewing the message
below in KMail.

The other problem with the crash which actually caused me noticing the problem
is that a KHTMLPart doesn't like it, if it is deleted again immediately,
before the timer in KRun that loads the external page has a chance to
timeout.
