Now, by homepage do you mean the default URL for the webbrowsing profile, or 
the Home URL field in KControl::File Browsing::FileManager, which is by 
default your home directory (~)?

Because if you mean the default URL for the webbrowsing profile, then I don't 
beleive it is possible to accuratelty determine that url, since the 
webbrowsing profile doesn't neccessarily have only one view in it.

And since tabs are used mainly for web browsing, making new tabs with the home 
directory wouldn't make much sense either.

I would prefer about:blank mostly because it would take the least ammount of 
time to create the tab, because it wouldn't have to load a page.  This is the 
way the new mozillas do it anyway.
