Dear All,
With help of our KDE IT engineer (Ben, CC'd) there are changes to
behavior of the bug tracking system for Kexi project.
The goal is to improve notification procedures so our work is easier
and more fruitful. The changes are effective today.
1. I've added two contributors, Ian Balchin and Adam Pigg as default
CC (copy) so they receive all emails about Kexi bugs.
I am receiving all emails too as an admin but now it's probably much
better to have more eyes.
Assignment is per component (reports, forms, etc.).
This is how it looks now (note the 4th column): http://i.imgur.com/9D6QGaq.png
REQUEST: If you'd like to HELP by receiving notifications for one or
more (or all) components please let me know. This makes sense if you
actually plan to read bug reports and contribute to bug hunting.
You *cannot* add yourself for receiving notification by hand (you can
only do so for individual bugs), so please respond here by email.
Don't be scared, there notification channel isn't very crowded :)
2. kexi-bugs at kde.org mailing list has been created.
Anyone can subscribe to the list on his/her own to receive all Kexi
bug notifications. People using the default CC feature don't need to
do that though, otherwise they'd most likely receive duplicated
notifications.
You can subscribe to the list at at
https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kexi-bugs
On the same page there's also link to archive (currently empty since
the list is brand new).
The archived notification mails look like this:
http://mail.kde.org/pipermail/kdepim-bugs/2014-December/thread.html
3. Default assignee for all bugs is now kexi-bugs at kde.org.
>From the Bugzilla documentation [*]:
"The default assignee should be the primary person who fixes bugs in
that component"
This was a bit *misleading* to many of us: newly reported bug has
UNCONFIRMED status at start but had default assignment to me or to
Adam.
This suggested we're working on them right now. Reality is that only
ASSIGNED status indicate a bug is being resolved.
So now after the change all bugs are assigned to kexi-bugs at kde.org by
default. That just means "Nobody concrete is assigned, the bug belongs
to whole Team" .
On real assignment, real person's email will be entered there and the
status will become ASSIGNED.
This is how the default assignments look now (note the 3th column):

Should you have any related question please don't hesitate to ask here.
