'close others' went away?

Okay, I did think it was a little weird that the 'close others' button
was right-most (where I would have expected the 'close current' button
to be), but I have to say I was getting used to it... and now it is gone
in 4.7, and I find I miss it :-(.

Is there a way to turn it on again? Why was it added and removed again
in such a short time?
