Increased Indentation in kdevelop when pressing the greater than symbol when editing php

Qt: 4.8.4
KDE Development Platform: 4.10.2
Kdevelop 4.5.0

In a PHP file when typing a line that has a > symbol in it advances the tab position 
upon pressing the > symbol, I'd like it to stop doing that, has anyone seen and solved 
this issue?  or know how to solve it?
 
image attached showing 2 lines that indented with the > symbol, and without 
manually fixing it, each line just indents deeper.
